Word to the wise: repeated water spray, in the name of watering the lawn, against wood siding
will cause water damage.
So we fixed it.

Too bad the paint left here when we moved in is a shade too light. To fix it or not to fix it?
I hope he placed a vapor barrier before attaching the wood. You don't want water getting into that insulation and growing mold.
