This just in:

In a surprise move, the doctor was able to tell us the gender of our lovely little twins!

Are you sure?

Alright, get ready.

Because it's exciting.

Ready now?

They're...

BOYS!

We were hoping that the doctor could tell the gender but we knew that at 16 weeks, it might be a little early. But, ha, a few seconds in to the ultrasound and, yep, they're boys!

We also saw a different doctor this time, a high risk OB (since they're mono-chorionic twins and have the posibility of twin-to-twin transfusion), just to make sure everything's hunky dory. He had some cool ultrasounding equipment, including a way to see the babies in 3D. All the pictures he gave us are in that mode, which look kind of funny and weird, but here they are:


Baby Boys 16 weeks

The first three pictures are baby B, the second three of baby A. Baby B had his hand by his face for all these pictures and A is just chillin'. In fact, A is a little big for his gestational age- guess it's because he's so lazy :)

As for names, we're thinking of Mario and Luigi. Or maybe Fred and George. Ha!

    Yay!!! Finding out is such an exciting moment and I think it is so fun to have same gender twins! I can't wait to find out the real names...not that Mario and Luigi are bad ones :-). Could they tell anything about the twin to twin transfusion? A friend in our ward here has twin girls that had that. They did surgery on them in utero - which I think is absolutely amazing and they are happy, healthy, adorable little girls!

    Do you either of you have twins in your family or were you completely shocked when you found out? I guess it would be shocking even if you do have twins in your family :-). I'm so excited for your little baby geniuses to be born!

    You should go with Fred and George. A new set of twins was just put next to us in the NICU, and they are named James and Lily. No kidding. I wonder if they know....

    Michael pretty much thinks Mario and Luigi or the Fred/George combo were perfect.

    I've been sooo waiting to find out the gender! Oh my you'll have a crazy house of boys! I cannot believe it. Wow!
