three and a half years

Hi! I'm Wren and I recently turned three and a half years old!

I'm SUCH a three year old. I am amazingly cute and adorable at times, then at others, I have to unleash my wrath. Though Mom thinks I'm a little bit calmer than I was six months ago. I love to be read to, I love to take my time eating, I love to be involved in anything my brothers are doing, I love playing with my friends, I love the colors pink and purple, I love to sing and dance, I love to be super sweet and loving when I feel like it, and I love to pick out my clothes. I'm potty trained now! Even at night I'm pretty good. I don't take naps all that much but I'll play in my room nicely for a while in the afternoon (besides the times where I put half a role of toilet paper in the toilet, put several dollops of shampoo in my hair, put several pumps of hand soap in my hair, and put a jar of Aquaphor in my hair. I like things in my hair, okay?!)

I'm still full of sometimes unjustified opinions that I announce at full, screaming volume. Sometimes I'm not so nice to my family members. I really like to do things by myself and do NOT want you to even THINK of helping me... unless I want your help and WHY AREN'T YOU ALREADY HELPING ME?? But I try to balance it all by being so generous with my "I love you"s, "thank you"s, hugs, and cheek stroking. When I'm sweet, I'm ADORABLE.

Happy half birthday to me!

Snowy Winter

It's been a much snowier winter and we're enjoying it!

All the Zechiels in Florida

We flew into 2019, literally! We counted down to midnight at the airport (they didn't even have tvs or an announcement over the intercom, just us and our phone clock), awaiting our red-eye flight to Florida to visit my parents and siblings!

We all had a fitful, not-at-all restful few hours of sleep and all ended up napping at some point during the day.

A little convertible ride woke us up!

Then, wiped out.

Actually, though, Grey and Liam both fell victim to a reoccurrence of a stomache bug they had the week before. Not only did it get my whole family that week (minus Dash) but it spread to almost everyone else! So much sharing!

When not being sick, we used the pool daily. And in the case of my children, about three times daily. It was so warm in Florida. Plus the pool heater was going: ahhhh.

Same flip, two ways!

Wren spent a lot of time on this ledge.

Dash once forgot the rules and jumped into the shallow end, hurting his ankle. Wrapping it up helped a bit. Giving him a cane to use helped A LOT.

But the main reason we came was to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. 50! What's more is the whole family came! All my siblings.  All the spouses. All the grandkids. EVERYONE! It was so awesome, we haven't all been together in ages. My parents thought two of the grandkids wouldn't be able to make it but they flew in as a surprise!

We all made scrapbook pages that we put all together. We also each made quilt squares that Niki is going to sew together. We then had a big catered lunch and then took some family photos (thanks Jennifer Craiker!).

Everyone! It makes me so haaaaaaaaaaaaappy!

The best (by which I definitely mean "worst") thing about that day was... well, you remember that stomache bug I mentioned? I got hit with it the day before, almost perfectly coinciding with Brian's family arriving (and they were only going to be around about 24 hours), was up much of the night throwing up and helping Wren, too. Also that night, all of Jenny's kids and a couple of Darren's kids got sick too. So you can play a game of Who's About to Puke? as you look at these photos. So fun. You better believe people were collapsed on the grass in between shots.

All sickness aside, it was fun to celebrate!

We also recreated an old photo from 25 years ago or so.

We had lots of other fun, too. For instance, we ate 6 boxes of push-pops.

Sean got a visit from an old friend.

Jenny showed me and mom how to shop at Sephora and Ulta AND then gave me tutorial on how to use my new makeup. What big sisters are made for!

We played with all the bike equipment

We watched the sunsets and all the golfers take their gimmees.

Sean found the moon.

And we made sure to cuddle. What a wonderful Florida trip!
