A Very Harry Halloween
Twas a Harry Potter Halloween this year!
Apparently Dumbledore doesn't even need his wand to do magic. So powerful, especially when flanked with his friend Fawkes.
Severus Snape, always severe. Always.
Harry and his buddy Hedwig!
Can't catch the Snitch!
Ron, don't let Scabbers go!
Hermione looked up from her studies just in time to catch Crookshanks from scampering off.
Hope your Halloween was as harry as ours!

grey is 6
Hi! I'm Grey! I just turned six years old!
I'm growing up a lot! I'm losing teeth (I bet I'll lose my other front tooth by Christmas!), reading like a pro, thinking of all sorts of math problems, making awesome choices in school, and soaking up all the things my teachers tell me.
I love to make people laugh. I love to come up with crazy scenarios to make people think. I love to play with my brothers and be buddies with my sister. I still love to sit in mom or dads lap. I'm sensitive to when others are upset or hurt and want to help them. I'm quick to say I'm sorry. I love to learn about the gospel and think about it often during the day. I still love sugary treats and watching a little tv. I'm a pretty great kid.
Happy birthday to me!

First Day of School 2018
School started, did you know? (What, it's already a quarter over?!)
Dash loves school (though he likes summer break better) and is doing a fantastic job in all his work.
Grey is doing awesomely in first grade and loves his male teacher, who happens to be (very successfully) indoctrinating in him a love of the Green Bay Packers (what?!).
Liam is in the same class as Dash and works hard to do great in school.
Now, I say we're doing Preschool with Wren but it's just her and me and we've had "class" maybe four times. We'll try harder next year.
We got a full set of super smart, super awesome kiddos over here!

Musical Swings + Waterfall
Well, you could say I'm little behind when I still need to blog about a summer activity and we're already three months into the school year. Let's get crackin'.
I had heard about this place in Green Mountain Falls that had a temporary setup of musical swings with a waterfall a short hike away. My parents were in town and my mom decided to join us.
Firstly we walked up to the waterfall which had a little bridge and a several landings to play in. And play we did!
We brought Syl along. At one point, a big brutish dog appeared without a collar. It came along the trail so I thought an owner would come up behind but nope. I kept Syl back and thankfully the dog turned back around. I don't know what I would have done if it was aggressive!
I always find this kid in perfect picture poses.
Then we hiked back. "Hike" is a stretch, it was really a walk through some roads (steep ones, though) both dirt and paved and a small trail. But if you're wearing a water backpack, it's official.
Wren went at her own pace. As always.
A nice little lake at the park with a few ducks to watch.
And the main event! The musical swings.
I still am not totally sure how it worked, I think the movement of a swing would activate a little melody. I couldn't tell if stronger swinging made it louder or anything. The tune would change even with the same number of swingers. However it worked, it was cool.
Wren's attention, though, was solely on the stream nearby.
Just splashing, strolling, and moving rocks.
And then it was time to go (doesn't she make the most achingly pitiful face?). We stayed there for hours since the kids were having such a nice time. Now the swings are gone and I hope they return someday!
