Warmer Day for Mimi and Pompa
The weather wasn't the awesomest for Mimi and Pompa's visit. In fact, Pompa had the honored privilege of plowing our driveway after a nice snowstorm. BUT the last day was a bit warmer which meant listening to conference outside.
My parents gave us their outdoor furniture. It's so much nicer than sitting in the dirt.
Then a little tire swinging!
Whee!
That swing was a good good creation.
These occasional nice days are such a tease. I can't wait for full-out spring. Mimi and Pompa, want to come back then?

Rallying for the Museum
Liam and Dash were feeling... not better but okay, Saturday afternoon. We took advantage and headed to the Children's Museum. Sean took all the photos- thanks, babe!
The kids usually request the water area first.
It's hard to be short.
Safety in all construction zones!
See any fires for Fireman Dash to put out?
Grey and Mimi performing and enjoying themselves on screen.
Right around then, Liam requested we head home. Poor sick kiddos. Glad they could have a little fun.

Conference with Kids
Mimi and Pompa's visit coincided with General Conference. While these eight hours of religious talks over two days is very edifying and spiritual, it's certainly a bit of a challenge with little kids. Here's some snapshots as we listened.
We had some activities prepared- every time an apostle spoke, they found his picture and taped it up on the wall. They also had some coloring pages and such.
They're favorite was probably cutting out the apostles pictures and matching them in number order.
Probably because it involved scissors and glue.
And Grey just played. C'est la vie.
(P.S. I forgot to put this Hexbug video on the last post. You can be sure this entertained them during Conference, too!)

Hex Track
Remember how Mimi and Pompa sent us some HexBugs? Well, now we have some Hex Tracks.
Those bugs can zip all around those tubes. It's kind of like watching an ant farm- you just sort of watch, fixated.
It was bought with Liam and Dash in mind, but it's become one of Grey's favorite toys. Bugs, bugs, galore!

Visiting the Sick House
Mimi and Pompa were able to come visit for an extended weekend. We hadn't seen them since October so we were all so excited!
Trouble was the kids got sick. Multi-day fevers, lethargic and Dash threw up one of the nights. Dash even napped two days in a row! That's serious business.
They'd have spurts of energy, usually once the medicine pulled the fever down, but then they'd just wear out so quick. Mimi and Pompa took Liam to the mall while Dash and Grey were sleeping, where he had some fun but ended up asking to go back home. I'm pretty sure that's never happened before.
So we put all our activity possibilities to bed and spent most of the time at home, kids on laps.
Grey never got a fever, thankfully, but had a nice vomiting session the day Mimi and Pompa left. He'd been pretty grumpy up to that point but seemed to perk up after.
Sean amazingly had a two day weekend (worked twelve days straight before and twelve days straight after) so he took part in the cuddles as well.
I'll show you some of the fun we created in the next few days. But I don't think Mimi minded the cuddles. What Grandma would?

Chesster
Look at my genius three-year-old chess champions.
Okay, so they're just following options presented by the iPad. But they can name the pieces!
Okay, just some of them. But they're only three, cut them some slack!

Snip
I came downstairs, one day, to find Dash missing a whole lot of hair from his forehead. He said he wanted "silly hair."
Liam's looked a little thinner as well. "Did you cut your hair, Liam." He shook his head. A little while later, I became sure some hair was missing. "You really didn't cut your hair?" Another head shake. Then a thought... "Did Dash cut your hair?" Excited nodding. Only after we buzzed their heads that night did I see how short it was. It was an underneath layer, heretofore hidden. At least Dash cut it similarly between the two of them- if you see them both at once, you might just think they're twins with matching wonky hairlines.
Grey was spared, for he was sleeping. Phew. Although, he actually does need a haircut...
And the scissors now reside atop the refrigerator.

Phonetricity
This little man figured out how to count to 100.
Captured by a twin (I don't remember which one and I can't tell by the picture!) while sitting on the counter. Grey was needing a little comfort.
The power of example. Grey's going to learn to climb out of his crib way too early.
Just hangin.
Some gym time at the community center. Liam's activity of choice resulted in many head bonks.
Pucker up!
Dash's soccer moves.
Brothers hiding in a volcano at the Children's Museum.
Grey embraces his independence in this room.
Sometimes, you just really need to get your hair wet.
How Grey eats chocolate pudding pie. Just a moment of civilized fork use.
A warmer day with Mimi and Pompa (I'll blog about that soon)
Speaking of civilized pie eating...
Photo of post-bath Grey by Liam.
Do you know that story? I keep telling them Ricki Ticki instead of Ticki Ticki. Whoops.
Unheard of. Neither child was sick and they both napped. I think Liam was avoiding quiet time by snuggling and ended up falling asleep. Dash was like, oh ok me too.
This is a good summarization of Liam and Grey's relationship. Crazy fun mixed with a little Liam going overboard and Grey reacting overboard.
Lots of purple Liams
Lots of blue Dashes.
Lots of normal Greys.

Happy Happenings
Excitement is afoot!
Sean's brother Austin got his mission call recently! He'll be serving in the Italy Milan mission. Too cool. So excited for you Austin!
Sean's sister Rachel is expecting a baby! They're due in September and we I can hardly wait. So excited for you, Rachel and Tim!
Most importantly, I... wore sandals today! Way to go Minnesota!

Snow Mojo
(Most of the snow is melted now!)
By the time April roles out, we run out of fun things to do in the snow.
So we wander.
(oops, still have the Christmas wreath up)
And we take photos.
And we unzip coats because it's not THAT cold.
We make footprints.
And we stand back to watch the snow fall.
