Pumpkin Carving: when we give knives to children.
We were bummed we didn't get to carve pumpkins with the Hamakers, as per tradition, since Jeff was out interviewing and Angela's super pregnancy-sick. But we carried on despite our dejection.
We started Dash and Liam out with markers to decorate their punkins but that wasn't enough, they wanted to carve, man. So Sean had them describe their pumpkin faces and we sliced it out for them.
Dash helped polish out the cuts, making it just right.
Liam wanted to make sure it was colored perfectly. Except washable markers just rub right off the pumpkin skin onto your hand. Whoops.
Grey had his own little pumpkin- it matches his little acne cheeks!
Behold, Liam and Dash's Jack-O-Lanterns! Liam wanted a happy face with those particular shapes but Dash wanted a sad face. Sean even added a cleft lip to make it especially sad. Totally on purpose.
They're drawn in like a couple insects to a bug zapper.
Um, that looks cool, yes?
Ta da, Sean and my pumpkins! These were total last minute deals. I wanted to stick with our Airplane/Avaitor theme and made some (not very good looking) airline wings. Sean was feeling completely uninspired (the Hamakers weren't there to make competition!) and just started carving. Who needs plans! I think his jack-o has a certain New Orleanian essence. Maybe next year year we'll up our game. But at least we have ourselves some glowing pumpkins.
