Mill Museum
The other day (as in, almost a month ago), we visited the Mill Museum. Did you know this area used to be a milling mecca? They built this museum into one mill that burnt down. It felt very hipster.
The best part of the museum was the cool elevator tour that bounced us around to different floors, telling stories. Kinda like a non-scary Tower of Terror. Except an employee warned us at the start that there was one big boom that might scare us. That made Dash nervous but he was okay as long as he was in dad's lap. Then the boom wasn't even loud. But THEN they let us out to see a great view out the balcony:
Awesome, right? All that massive water power.
We didn't last long outside, though. Someone dressed the twins in short sleeves that day (not it). Can you spy the finger up the nose? (not it)
Dang, he's cute!
You could still see out through the big windows just fine.
Thanks for the photo, tour guide!
Then we did all the fun inside stuff. We learned how you make flour out of grain, about different flour products, etc.
The boys liked the train/boat set up, meant to teach them about shipping.
They had some water tables where they could make their own dams and such.
There was even a big ol' map to put together!
I'm stuuuuuck!
We ended in the exposed ruin of the burnt mill.
Grey waxed prophetic.
Dash hugged a pipe.
Liam felt uncooperative.
And we hurried out before those bent beams fell all over us!
