Colorado Comes To An End

We've been home for two weeks so I may as well finish up this Colorado business. Here's little story bites to flesh out the travelogue (pictures only sometimes correlate).

- Each time Grey woke up and was fed, I'd take him out to the living room and say, "I have a baby, who wants him?" and someone was always there to take him. Okay, not literally, but essentially. 85% of the time, it was Mimi. It was so nice to have all the help.

- The house was packed full. That made for some lovely, unexpected early mornings for those in the non-soundproof rooms, when the twins would make their pre-dawn entrance to the day.

-The first night after Rachel and Tim arrived, we sent the boys to give everyone hugs before bed. Liam went straight to Tim. Liam knows how to make a guy feel welcome.

- Once Dash was playing with the doll that represented baby Jesus and then... he tried to nurse it. Yep, that happened.

- Sweet Avery was a little overwhelmed at the noise of our kids. I think it made her stay a little closer to her parents. I did my usual Auntie thing of slowly easing her into being comfortable around me, though it didn't get too far. I achieved Tolerating My Presence status. She did climb up on Sean's lap on the last day, that's a success!

- The Bradley's is a big game house. The biggest hit was Pull the Peanut. Which we renamed Yankee Nuts. To play: everyone tie a string around a peanut and place the nut inside a circle. The "it" person has a pair of dice which he repeatedly rolls. If it adds up to seven or eleven, the peanut people yank out their peanut while the it person slams down a colander to try and capture the peanuts. If a peanut is caught, that person gives a chip (everyone starts out with poker chips) to the it person. If the it person mistakenly slams the colander when it's not a seven or eleven, he gives two chips to each player. Dice change hands when doubles are rolled.

(Bonus awesome points go to whoever keeps their peanut intact the longest. I went through at least fifteen.)

- This trip was a road trip (though Grey and I flew the first leg to Colorado) and the kids did wonderfully with the help of lots of electronics, books, and toy cars. We drove straight through and boy is that next day tiring. I'm SUPER thankful that our car decided to stop working the day AFTER we arrived home. After several jumps and lots of poking around, it was a short in the passenger seat at fault which cost 10 times more to fix than a short should cost. And thus we met our semiannual surprise car repair.

- We all got to attend Austin's Eagle Court of Honor. He just really cared about family being there, so it was held in the home. It was sweet having all his siblings talk about how great their little brother is. Three brothers, three Eagle Scouts!

- Every time we go to Colorado, Sean hugs Rufus this way. You know Rufus likes it, deep down.

Liam and Dash were happy with absolutely everyone. If you play with them, you're their favorite. They had so much fun with everyone.

-Liam and Dash loved on Sawyer like they love on Grey but they were always did it gently. Phew!
