1) A little bit before we arrived, the boys started to get into their fun repeating words phase. They'd just pick out a word here and there from a sentence we say and repeat it over and over. I loved hearing what they picked up from all the family. Some fun ones from the last several weeks: high school (ha coo), heart, work, week, day, star, house, ambulance (ippy), marker (mamu), zoo, bulldozer (dz dz dz), hopper, hummer, home, is, it. Plus very helpful ones like "in" and "out," "on" and "off." I love it! Most exciting, Austin and Rachel have now been named. They're now Uncle AaaaNaNa and Aunt ShjoShjo.
2) I had been looking forward to the trip because, among many other reasons, trips to CO have historically reset their sleeps to be loooong. But, ay caramba, it was crazy this time. They did sleep long the first two nights as they caught up their lost sleep from traveling. But after that, they'd always wake up at least once a night and start their morning at unpredictable times. And they even missed one of their naps of their own volition. Come on, now, we can't have that!
3) It was wonderful to have people around with so many new ideas for playtime. Things that I wouldn't even think of. Like this:
4) With so many fun things and people with which to interact, their sibling friction was at a minimum. At was so lovely, I didn't have to leap over to prevent a bite every two minutes or referee a toy fight. That truly was blissful.
But just like that, we came back home, back to the grind, back to the same ol' same ol'. Though it was nice to be back in our beds. Until next time, Colorado, until next time!
