Over the weekend we had a fun afternoon strolling around the Bayou City Art Festival.
We were able to see all sorts of paintings and photography and multimedia displays and woodworking and sculptures. And a zillion other things.
Its really fun to be surrounded by so much creativity and so much appreciation of the arts. If we had, you know, an income, we sure would have picked out a few things to adorn our home. Really fantastic stuff there.
We stopped by the kids craft area and let the boys make tulips out of their handprints.
They sure enjoyed themselves even if all they kiddos did was provide their hand for tracing and play with tape and markers.
The flowers turned out lovely, don't you think?
It even had a pipecleaner stem- how cool is that?!
Ah, the smell of fresh construction paper.
When they were done, they scoped out the area for a lady to whom they could present their flowers.
Oh, me?! My, I'm touched, I'm honored, I'm thrilled! What? Oh, the lady next to me. Well, she looks nice... and... and let's just keep moving. [sob sob]
We let the boys loose in the sculpture garden.
And loose they went.
But we made sure to keep them hydrated. It's still hot out here!
Liam and Dash really, really enjoyed the big, graphic sculptures, constantly running and pointing piece to piece.
"Hello, Mr. Fox, my name's Dash, what's yours?" (Don't worry, this was a permanent piece, I didn't let them have free reign over the displays)
So much to see, so much fun to be had.
"It sure was fun, mom, thanks for bringing us!"
