Zoo with Naomi

Over spring break, my parents came to visit AND so did my niece, Naomi. We haven't seen her in years, it was so fun to spend time with her and show her around town! Everyone knows you haven't really visited Colorado Springs until you've fed a giraffe, so to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo we went!

I think she enjoyed it. Though she was very happy to clean her hands at the end.

Every few days, my kids wonder aloud if this giraffe is still licking the post.

I have been to this zoo many times but I must always turn the wrong way because I have never seen the lion before, and it was so close!

Grey wasn't interested in posing. Wren wasn't interested in being in the photo.

I love the budgie room but I spend so much time lifting up my kids to reach the birds that I'm a sweaty mess by the end.

touch the trucks

We went to Touch-A-Truck. It's a place where you touch trucks. And climb all over them and pretend to drive them.  Here it is in action:

five-and-a-half

Hi! I'm Grey! Today I'm five and a half years old!


My favorite thing in the whole world is being silly. Acting silly, saying silly words, naming silly names, making silly sounds, thinking up silly situations, and laughing about it all. It's actually become an issue at school. I used to be super well behaved in school but then, as if with a flick of a switch, I let all the silly out. Whee, there it goes! But Mom has given me lots of incentives to behave and I've been acting more appropriately the last several weeks.


My other fancies are Mario and candy. I could talk your ear off about Super Mario Odyssey and the cool things you can do in the game. And I will take every opportunity to ask you for a treat.


I've been getting more and more brave. I even did a dance class with a performance and I really gave it my all! Some things still make me nervous, like talking to people I don't know, but I've been trying.


I also love being with my family. As much as I like to push buttons (or dislike having my buttons pushed), playing games with them is one of my preferred activities. I love to show them the neat things I do and to have them laugh at my silly antics. And I'm quick to share my love of them all. Though I'm also often heard saying, "I love everybody in the whole world!"
