Dressing Up

Sean has had to work long nights this week. Including traffic time, he'd be gone 14-15 hours, then come home to get some minimal sleep. He'd be up with us all for an hour or two, then be off again. Our little boys were missing their daddy.

So each evening after he left, the boys would scrounge around the house to find an item of Sean's clothing to wear. Today, Sean's tie and scrub shirt. Smashing (love the plaid on plaid, don't you?).

Missing their daddy made them kinda weird, too. Good thing that Sean's taking his OB/Gyn test today and is off for two weeks! Play time, here we come!

Whilst Skyping

Every weekend, generally, we take a little time to skype our parents. So the boys could have a little cyber bonding with their relatives. This was easy peasy lemon squeezy when they were little, just hold them in view of the camera. But now a days, they zip zoom all around the house and we have to chase them with the laptop to share a glimpse of their fun. Sure, when they first hear the "boo bee boop" of the skype ring, they're rather enamored with the new faces on the screen, but soon they create new entertainment.

On this particular occasion, Liam took to can sorting.

Taking a moment to analyze...

Gotta rearrange.

Dash chose that moment to begin launching off chairs. Luckily, always while seated and holding daddy's hands.

IMG_6232e
Catch me, dad!

And... do it again!

So I guess they're grandparents are getting quite an accurate look at what their twin grandsons do every day. Always on the go!

A High Chair Convoy

IMG_6160e
We rearranged the furniture a bit when we put up the Christmas decorations, which created a more open space in the living room/eating area. Dash and Liam have utilized this space for high chair transportation. More than once Sean has come home to the high chairs blocking the door to the garage.

Push them back a little here...

IMG_6164e
Adjust it a bit there...

IMG_6156e
A quick nudge from the foot...

And thoroughly enjoying it.

Not to mention their beloved new activity: climb up the high chair and give mom a heart attack:
Ever since they started doing it last week, they're going up and down those things like a squirrel raiding a pine tree. Dash fell and whacked his head hard twice in one day. Didn't stop him from climbing right back up (after he cried for 20 minutes each time). Oy.

Owls

Last year we bought Liam and Dash's first annual Christmas ornament: Snowmen. Seeing as the snowman is such a integral part of our family's beginnings, it seems perfect.

So this years ornament? Owls. Just screams Christmas, doesn't it? Naw, it's more representative of this point in their lives, since they love owls so much.

Or rather, they love to eat owls so much. Apparently.

And play with their wings.

Poor half-blind owls.

Last year's snowmen are still beloved.

IMG_6317e
They double as phones, you know. Hello? Yes, I'd like to know when we'll be getting snow. What?! It doesn't snow in Texas?

IMG_6320e
Oh whatever am I going to do? Don't worry, son, we'll find somewhere cold and snowy for Christmas. Don't you worry one bit.
