Road Trippin: Petrified Forest National Park
We did a lot of driving on our trip, probably 5-6 hours every day and the kids did great! We finished listening to all of Harry Potter, which felt very monumental to me! On the way from Santa Fe to Flagstaff, we stopped to see some petrified wood. We didn't go all the way in to see it in its natural setting but took a gander at the displays by the visitor's center. Liam happened upon a little geocache hidden behind a sign and he was so proud.

Road Trippin: Meow Wolf
You guys, this place is so fun.
First of all, we went on a road trip (only a couple weeks ago, I'm almost caught up, besides all the birthday posts I've missed). The kids had a couple days off school but we could only make it work if we left late in the evening after parent teacher conferences. Besides the fact that Wren would NOT go back to sleep once we got to the hotel, it worked out just fine. We landed first in Santa Fe to visit Meow Wolf. Its this huge spaced filled with explore-able art, different spaces and themes throughout. Unexpected surprises abound! There's a little bit of mysterious background story but diving into that involved reading lots of papers and poking in nooks and crannies, which the kids weren't too interested in. In fact, we were hoping to all stay together but Wren was ping ponging all over the place, so much so that one parent had to be dedicated to her. This was probably my favorite of the whole trip, everyone had such a fun time!

iFLY
For Sean's birthday, I surprised Sean with a visit to IFLY for some indoor skydiving (first two photos). It was awesome. Sean seriously impressed the instructor, he took to it so quickly. I honestly think if it wasn't an hour away, Sean would consider taking regular lessons. The kids thought it looked so fun, so we took everyone for Grey's birthday. All the boys thought it was so great! Wren was confident going in but wasn't having it when she entered the chamber. She says she'll be brave enough when she's six. Grey loved his birthday adventure!

Botanical Corn Maze
For Grey's birthday we went to a corn maze at the Denver Botanical Gardens. Not only was there a fun maze with fun little "alien" landmarks, there was a beautiful interactive art installation, pumpkin patch-type activities, and lovely gardens. We weren't expecting all those extras!
