five-and-a-half

Hi! I'm Grey! Today I'm five and a half years old!


My favorite thing in the whole world is being silly. Acting silly, saying silly words, naming silly names, making silly sounds, thinking up silly situations, and laughing about it all. It's actually become an issue at school. I used to be super well behaved in school but then, as if with a flick of a switch, I let all the silly out. Whee, there it goes! But Mom has given me lots of incentives to behave and I've been acting more appropriately the last several weeks.


My other fancies are Mario and candy. I could talk your ear off about Super Mario Odyssey and the cool things you can do in the game. And I will take every opportunity to ask you for a treat.


I've been getting more and more brave. I even did a dance class with a performance and I really gave it my all! Some things still make me nervous, like talking to people I don't know, but I've been trying.


I also love being with my family. As much as I like to push buttons (or dislike having my buttons pushed), playing games with them is one of my preferred activities. I love to show them the neat things I do and to have them laugh at my silly antics. And I'm quick to share my love of them all. Though I'm also often heard saying, "I love everybody in the whole world!"

Stock Show

The weekend of my birthday the Stock Show was up in Denver, so up we went. Along with the rest of the state, it felt like.



Some areas had kid activities, like this design-a-horse station.


Or this cowboy training area. Yeehaw!


But of course, there were a lot of animals to see!


Some of the cows got a serious salon treatment- a full color, cut, and blowdry!

I think these guys are parading au naturel, however.

two and a half years

Hi! I'm Wren!


Today I'm two and a half years old!


I'm a big ol' ham who likes to dance and make silly faces. I'm delighted when I make someone laugh! And I sure like to laugh too!


I sleep in my crib and love to sleep in. I take naps sometimes and the days I don't are full of grumps.


I'm a very particular girl and like things my way, making my opinions known very, very loudly.


Sometimes I really love playing with my brothers, sometimes I really don't. Sometimes I want to hug and kiss them, sometimes I really don't. Sometimes I like their help, sometimes I really don't. It makes my brothers pretty confused. But I do love them, promise.


But really though, I'm a sweety. Just an opinionated sweety.  I freely say "I love you," I help people when they're sad, I like to stroke my Mommy's face, I have the gentlest voice.


I'm picky with my food, just as a toddler should be. I like fruit, not so much the veggies. Not big on eating much of anything for dinner. But I get by.


And I'm pretty sure everyone in my family adores me. Just a hunch.
