Hi! I'm Liam! I just turned six years old!

IMG_1740ee
I'm full of life and still love to be impressive. I like learning new things and exploring ideas. My mom is always impressed by my ability to come up with and then complete creative projects.

IMG_1736e
While I sometimes don't have the most patience with my brothers, I'm a very nice friend and am always so excited when my friends do something good or exciting. And I adore my sister! Carrying her around is one of my favorite things!

IMG_1742ee
I really like to build things, be it with blocks or dominos or legos or hot wheels tracks. I'm a great student and love learning all sorts of subjects. But that doesn't mean I've forgotten my silly side- I can make the best of them giggle. Dash especially.

Hi! I'm Dash! I just turned six years old!

IMG_1755ee
I'm a sweet boy who soaks up the best of life. While I can certainly have a good emotional meltdown when I'm frustrated by a brother, I'm generally a very kind-hearted, kind kid. I'm a really good friend and I can't get enough of my baby sister! It makes my day when she smiles at me.

IMG_1764e
I love reading books where I get to learn new things. I do a great job in school! When I read, I like to make sure I read tricky words carefully so don't make mistakes. I like building too and making cool contraptions and mazes.

IMG_1762ee
I can be such a silly kid, making jokes, giggling with Liam, doing crazy dances. I love to make people smile. Happiness is my favorite!

Happy birthday, Liam and Dash!

Fargo Children's

The Fargo's Children Museum is a big house converted into a kid's wonderland. The kids had a blast and suprisingly (not) didn't want to stay all together, so Sean and I would follow a couple kids each and switch every now and then. I'm such an amazing mother that I took the same number of pictures of each child! So let's go through it person by person.

Grey's going to make an excellent farmer one day.

Or, perhaps, a cowboy.

Just make sure there's a bubble wall in his life. He has the cheeks for it.

IMG_0841e
Liam can't resist a map challenge, even if the state shapes are a little peculiar.

IMG_0848e
Trying his hand at cowboyin' too.

The original selfie.

Dash is a bee with attitude.

IMG_0856e
There were lots of musical instruments to try but I think the organ was a favorite. My grandparents had one and I always loved playing with it when we visited.

IMG_0861e
Controlling the marble maze- so much power, ha ha ha.

IMG_0843e
On the short drive from the air museum to the children's museum, Wren took about a 30-second nap and didn't go back to sleep once we got her out of the car. What a morning nap!

IMG_0857e
She did remarkably well being carted around and occasionally having a chance to play too.

IMG_0872e
And once we started driving back home, she took a nice long car nap. Phew.

North Dakota, check!

Fargo Air

Growing up, we usually went on vacation via the car trip. And anytime I entered a state I had not yet visited, I got to color in that state on my very own state map, so I could keep track of each state I've entered.

Wouldn't you know it, Sean's family kept track of their visited states, too. Now it's a tradition that we're doing with our kids!

You know what's a tricky state to log? North Dakota. Not a whole lot of exciting things happening in that state. Way up north. In fact, there are North Dakota visitor centers that have shirts celebrating people getting their 50th state- they know. They know their state isn't the most enticing.

But do you know what it borders? Minnesota. So, gosh, we had to take a trip. I'd apparently visited the state when I was very young but the rest of my family has not.

To Fargo.

We drove over on a Friday, had some dinner, and played the night away at the hotel pool. The next day we hit up a couple fun venues before heading back home. First, we scoped out the Fargo Air Museum. Super cool planes, tricky keeping the kids from climbing into them.

Ha! These boys are the funniest.

The drone was one of everyone's favorites.

It was very much Wren's naptime so we thought she might fall asleep. That was a very silly expectation.

Keeping his smile on despite a few time outs. Oh, what a three-year-old.

Coming up, a children's museum!

Como Visit

Cabin Fever + Twins off of school = Actually Go Somewhere day
Actually Go Somewhere day + Toddler Thursday = Family fun at Como!

IMG_0676e
Como Zoo and Conservatory's weekly Thursday activity is geared toward toddlers, but I brought one toddler and four non-toddlers. Yet everyone still had fun.

IMG_0673e
Ta da, bell pepper stamps.

IMG_0680e
Sorting colored apples.

IMG_0684e
Examining different kinds of seeds.

IMG_0710e
We took a stroll around the conservatory as well. The hall with the flowers is always my favorite.

IMG_0715-e
Wren was around, too, but remember, the photographer was wearing her. Sorry, baby.

IMG_0723e
Watching the koi.

IMG_0724e
And our visit ended dramatically with a major blowout, Wren screeching on the changing table and Grey adding his own epic cries to the bathroom noise. It was all fun up until then...
