Helium

I tried to snap some cute photos of all the boys with a birthday balloon, but Grey wasn't having it.


So we just played with the balloons in the wind.


I don't know how many times I reminded them not to let the balloons go. Luckily our giant maple tree caught Dash's when he forgot.

I think we need to get helium balloons more often. Too much fun.

Grey's Day

(2+ weeks later...) Grey had a lovely birthday. We decorated a bit, complete with scattered balloons. Grey was a fan, though we had to watch him extra carefully. Obviously.


I made cupcakes! The frosting was a little drippy, but, eh.


Grey first tried the frosting...


Then the cake...


Then went to town!


We had some friends over to celebrate. It was really a playdate with cupcakes. But I had a party for Liam and Dash, so I had to have a party for Grey too.


Because a year of this guy's life is worthy of so much celebration!


Now those are birthday hands.

We went to a parade!


My friend and neighbor told us about our town's city parade. To celebrate fall? Or something?


We thought it'd be just this little ol' thing, but was a nice long production- we were impressed.


And look the antique store across the street is selling!


So there were lots of emergency vehicles. Grey was not a fan of those sirens.


Some excellent military representatives.


A marching band! Made me nicely nostalgic. Now fluters, get to memorizing that music!


Grey needed lots of cuddles with all the noise.

We got a visit from Santa. In September! How lucky!


But my kids discovered the true joy of a parade: the candy. Soooo many tootsie rolls.


Grey would force them on daddy.


Parade's wrapping up, the police cars are coming back around- you can tell by the look on Grey's face.
