The Right Way To Wear Pajamas

As much as they love their Toy Story PJs, there's another set that makes Dash and Liam's hearts go pitter-pat. They're covered in cars and the boys can't get enough of them. And sure, they like to wear them to bed but they've found a better way to use them.

What do you do with your car pajamas, Dash?

That's right, you love to set them atop your head.

The less you can see the better.

Also favored are wearing the pants around their scalp, resting them across their shoulders, or just looking at them. Pttt pttt pttt!

Now, while all this was happening, Liam decided to opt out of his favorite pajama game and go read books in Dash's crib. Whatever makes you happy, babe.

Buzz and Woody

When Target put these pajamas on sale, I couldn't resist:

(I didn't choose these props for them, we just had them around and they picked such appropriate playthings. They like to get in character. Also, what does that say about me that I have an empty contact solution case and rope laying around with the kids' toys?)

New Crayons

We bought some new crayons recently, the kind with a plastic encasing that twists to let the crayon out. So now Liam and Dash can't chomp off giant hunks of crayon for their gnawing pleasure, only itty bitty nubs. No more purple goo diapers! This photo also features one of their favorite places to color: wedged between the table and the sliding glass door. Maybe the snugness makes them feel extra secure?

Their other favorite place to color is upon top of the table. They shimmy shimmy shimmy up on and sit or lay any ol' which way. They love a higher vantage point.

One on top, one wedged in. Perfect. (I have a feeling they're right handed)

Or sometimes they hang their legs into the wedge. Best of both worlds.

Early Christmas

We held an impromptu Christmas gift opening party since we won't be in Colorado for the holiday. Except it was just us opening gifts since we didn't bring presents to give. Gotta keep that USPS in business, right? Liam and Dash have been furiously using their new HP Touchpad and gigantic box of Duplos. Sean and I love our gifts too- among them, a new necklace and the Harry Potter bluray (finally!).

The boys also got these neat balls that change color with body heat. Through this we learned that Sean's mom and Rachel do not emit heat whatsoever.

These balls are now sporting nice mouth-sized divots.

They also got a pair of recorders.

Man, they are good at tooting their own horns.

Next came a Lion puppet and a tiger puppet. Dash made sure the Lion gave everyone a kiss or two.

Since we weren't planning on doing a gift exchange, I didn't prep the kiddos with the idea of opening wrapping paper. I think they were a little confused why I was telling them TO rip the paper.

But they always loved what was underneath. Particularly The Polar Express book. Choo choo!

Thanks for the gifts everyone! Twas a most lovely trip!
